Historical fact:

Alabaster, called “Hedsh” in ancient Egypt, was one of the most prized materials of the Pharaohs, treasured for over 5,000 years.

This fine-grained stone, usually white or warm honey in tone, was admired for its luminous quality and spiritual meaning. Its soft glow made it the perfect medium for sacred objects, ritual vessels, perfume jars, canopic containers and offering dishes placed within tombs.

More than beautiful, alabaster carried deep symbolism: purity, eternity, and divine light. Because of its ability to transmit and soften light, it was believed to connect the physical world with the spiritual, serving as a powerful emblem of the afterlife.
